Changes in 2022 for Building Processes in Lake Country

Lake Country, BC – The Building Division of the District of Lake Country is implementing changes that will make serving customers more efficient and effective. 

The District of Lake Country has been administering a record number of building applications since 2019 and this trend is continuing. In 2021 the District issued 363 permits with a construction value of $92 million and already has over 100 applications in various stages of review in 2022.

Yard waste pick up restarts for 2022

It may feel a little chilly for gardening season just yet, but yard waste collection is back on! Starting Tuesday March 1, all residents receiving curbside garbage/recycling collection will also benefit from yard waste pick up every two weeks until the end of December.

Council Considers Community Input at February 22nd Council Meeting

Tonight beginning at 6:30 pm Council will consider public input received since December, in response to the proposed 2022 budget. On January 4th Council gave first reading to a proposed increase of 6.62%. Now that projected growth figures from BC Assessment have been updated, revisions to the proposed tax increase have been made and Council will consider a 6.12% rather than the original 6.62% tax increase for 2nd & 3rd readings at the February 22, 2022 Special Council Meeting....
