The District of Lake Country in conjunction with Interior Health has issued a BOIL WATER NOTICE for customers affected by the water system outage on the east side of Oyama that will occur on May 10, 2022. A map highlighting the affected customers is attached.

Effective May 6 at 10:00 am, the 70% axle weight load restrictions on Lake Country roads have been removed.
Seasonal load restrictions are put into place to protect our roads from damage or failure during the spring when the winter’s frost is thawing and the snow melt and rain have saturated the road base material. Damage done to roads is usually deeper than just on the surface and can end up costing hundreds of thousands, or potentially millions, of dollars to repair.

REMINDER: Oyama residents please take note
The District will be performing work on the watermain south of the Middle Bench/Todd Road intersection (see attached map). The project is scheduled to begin the week of May 10, 2022 and be complete by May 13, 2022.

Travis Kendel, Manager of Engineering from the RDCO presented an update to Council on the Waste Reduction Program within the Central Okanagan. Different options on how to continue the program in Lake Country were presented to Council as the RDCO plans to make a decision in June.
